Aaron Savvy
Fitness Model-Activist

Aaron Savvy could easily be described as a modern-day Renaissance man. He's already done so much in his 32 years and shows no signs of slowing down! Whether he's working on his own projects or providing inspiration to others, Aaron Savvy continues to make a difference. He does it with a heartfelt blend of self-motivation, confidence, enthusiasm and sincere modesty. We were happy, honored, and excited to have an opportunity to talk to Aaron about his life and work as a personal trainer and fitness expert, entrepreneur, model, producer and soon-to-be media celebrity.

First, a little background info. Aaron Savvy was raised in Washington State and moved to Los Angeles as an adult to pursue modeling and entertainment ventures. He spent several years as a boxer on FX's Toughman (aka UFC). He's done volunteer work with youth groups. He's been a DJ and a composer. He has always dedicated his life to fitness and he's become a personal trainer in order to share his passion for well-being with others (info at
www.aaronsavvy.com). Aaron has now turned his attention to producing his own reality series that will soon air on a major network.

Jack Manly: Thanks for taking the time out of your busy schedule to talk to us.

Aaron Savvy: It’s a pleasure to stop in and show my love

JM: We seem to know a lot about you and your activities from past interviews, your website, your profile pages, etc and you have a lot going on in your life. Is there one priority that currently supersedes the others?

AS: Not really. Everything that I am currently working on as well as past work, has all contributed equally in the building of my future. One thing I promise is to always push further in my endeavors and to never go backwards.

JM: With this in mind, what gives you the most enjoyment and/or fulfillment?

AS
: Giving and helping others. Even as a child, I was always concerned for others. As a fitness trainer and writer, I am able to teach and inform individuals on establishing a healthy new life-style.

JM: You've been refreshingly upfront about doing nudity (and more) at Sean Cody but it is something you've put behind you. How difficult was it for you to get people to look beyond your "Ajay" persona and get to know you as Aaron Savvy?

AS:: I am proud of who I am and I stay true to who I am as a person. When people see that, the thought of the past is never an issue. They just get to see “Ajay” now “Aaron Savvy” as common as the nose on one’s face. I have never experienced any negative feedback from doing Sean Cody. I also realize that I am plastered all over the internet. You either hide from it or you accept it. I choose acceptance.

JM: At the same time you don't shy away from making the most out of your obvious physical beauty. You can be seen at Male Perfection, in an online contest, underwear modeling, etc. As such you've become something of a gay icon. What's the upside/downside of this for your goals?

AS: Considering my past in experience in porn and underwear modeling, some people feel as though I come across as “easy.” I am actually just the opposite. I am actually quite the gentleman: polite, romantic and yeah, I even open the car door for my date. On the upside, I do get to meet a lot of my fans. I love meeting and getting to know all that I come across. Getting free underwear is always nice too (laughs).

JM: How has all of this affected your social life? Are you single? Is it hard for you to meet guys that aren't intimidated by you, or guys that want to get to know you as a person? And what kind of person are you attracted to or drawn to?

AS: I am single. Sometimes its hard meeting guys, because I find myself usually having to go up to say the first word. I think it’s possibly because guys think I’m straight and it sends mixed signals. Intimidation and jealousy play a part due to some of the attention I get in public. When I go on a date, I usually will have someone recognize me. Sometimes on the first date I have to explain to my date the reason that people are coming up to me. Makes it a little awkward, because I want them to know me for who I really am: A guy who has standards, morals and goals. I figure it’s going to take a really special guy to see all of that and support my career. I love guys who take good care of themselves. A healthy lifestyle is important. Being ripped or buff isn’t required, but I do like a person whose body is proportionate. I like guys that are easy going, dependable, self-reliant, love cuddling, are drama-free and love getting outdoors.

JM: You are pretty much an open book, but is there anything that people don't know about you that you'd like to share that might surprise people?

AS: I volunteered as a big brother for both girls and boys who needed a friend and mentor. I rented two limos and took a dozen of these boys and girls on a fun filled day of food, candy and arcades. I loved every moment of that day.

JM: With this in mind do you have any other talents that you'd like to have time to nurture?

AS: I love to play the piano. I play by ear in and I can re-produce any rhythm or song. I also write and co-produce my music. You can check it out on my MYSPACE at myspace.com/SCAjayLA.

JM: Obviously physical fitness is a major part of your life and you have a very common sense approach to it. As a trainer, how hard is it to free clients and others from misconceptions about diet, exercise, lifestyle, etc.? What's the key to breaking through to them?

AS: Having my clients realize that it’s all about taking it one day at a time. Nothing happens over night, and yet the world seems to believe that that’s possible. I live what I teach. My clients see that and have comfort in knowing that they’re in good hands. Explaining things and answering all their questions puts them at ease.

JM: One of your goals seems to be as an inspiration to others and on your site you mention a 70-year old trainer who was your inspiration. Are there any others, past or present, who have been inspirational to you?

AS: I get e-mails from people all over the world thanking me for inspiring them to never give up. All of these people touch me and therefore are an inspiration for me to continue moving forward.

JM: Are there people that have helped you in your present endeavors that you'd care to mention?

AS: All of my fans! All of you have brought me to where I am now. So to all of you… I thank-you from the bottom of my heart.

JM: With that in mind who are YOUR icons, role models, and/or heroes?

AS: Anyone who carries a positive energy about themselves.

JM: How involved are you politically?

AS: I stay in tune and vote for the best candidate I see fit.

JM: You've dropped some hints and told us some news about your current and upcoming plans. Is there anything more you care to let us know about?

AS: I am working on a television series. I hope for it to be out the first of this next year.

Finally we have a few fun questions:

Guilty or secret pleasure? bi

Favorite super-hero? HE-MAN

Any deal-breakers when it comes to friends or dates? Sometimes…

Artist or photographer you'd like to work with? Anyone who can take and or paint a good picture

In parting, Aaron let us know that he entered an online contest and would love a little support from our readers. The contest is a search for guys with good looking bodies.
“I hope my training has paid off and the only way to win is to be voted for at
www.menwithoutshirts.com/aaronsavvy.Thank’s again to all of you who vote for me.
Sincerely, Aaron Savvy”

We look forward to watching Aaron’s life and career and you can bet we’ll be keeping you informed. Thanks, Aaron!
