| Week of May 23-31, 2010 Coincidentally this week's top picks tied into the weekend's annual Grabbbys Awards, which in themselves were a reflection of the state of the gay porn industry in 2009 and now. We start with Cocksure Men which featured the pairing of two of the hottest stars around: Parker London and Leo Giamani. Leo, Adam Killian & Ty Colt just won the Grabby for Best Three-Way for their scene in Falcon's The Trainer and a lot has happened to the handsome. muscular & hung star since then. Here with the very busy & versatile Parker London, it seems like old times for Leo Giamani.  Leo is very much the strong, silent type so he needs to be cast with dynamic performers (like Killian) to get him revved up. Parker London is just the right guy to do it too. Whether he's gay, straight, or bi doesn't really matter because Parker always gives 100% and he sure likes to have fun doing it. The video is directed by talented Jasun Mark who wisely makes this an all-sex, non role play video so that the viewer gets lots of Leo & Parker.  Dominic Ford came away with a Grabby win for Best Comedy for its full-length feature Whorrey Potter and while the company probably would've liked to have won more it's no doubt very happy to have goten this recognition. This week Dominic Ford brought back a little romance with a real-life couple Topher DiMaggio & Cameron Marshall. Yeah, we didn't know they were a couple either but according to DF, Topher wanted the site to film their first video together as boyfriends. It's a very hot & naturally sexy scene with the kind of passion that can sometimes can be faked, but is rarely believable as it is here.  Active Duty also won a Grabby for Best Pro/Am video while site owner Dink Flamingo was also inducted into the Hall of Fame. This kind of big news week was appropriately coupled with the release of the first scenes from the company's Dirty Bird PIctures feature Speedoboys. It stars two of the site's hottest stars Kaden & Shawn, but the real focus here is on Tim. He's the Hawaii univerrsity student who caused a stir by posted videos of himself jacking off in one of his school's empty classrooms! He was nearly expelled for this notorious feat but it also got him job offers in the porn biz, namely here at Active Duty. He's a hottie to be sure which is one of the reasons he gets two exceptional co-stars. We have a feeling that if he wanted, Tim would have no trouble being more than a one-hit wonder. HOT NEWCOMER OF THE WEEK Jake Cruise: Tyler Hunt  Jake Cruise has always had a knack for finding hotties & future stars and it's quite possible he's found another in Tyler Hunt. This unquestionably handsome & well-built guy made his debut this week at Jake Cruise getting serviced by Jake himself. This is usually the way things go for newcomers and Tyler Hunt makes the most of it. He's a stripper so he knows how to be uninhibited, charming and to use his body effectively. WE don;t know what Jake has planned for this guy but we hope he's back soon. One of the site members commented that he's reminiscent of Michael Von Steel and we quite agree, although Michael was VERY tall. But Tyler Hunt definitely has the look. Week of May 16-22, 2010  This week our top pick goes to Randy Blue for its full-length feature Text, Lies & Video. Once again the site was trying something new and taking chances, something we always appreciate from a top site. Randy Blue has done full-length features before (Alley Cats and That 70s Gay Porn Movie) but decided to do something less elaborate and serialize it in four installments over the course of a week. Writer Don Mike & director Jeremy Lucido were careful to give each of the four parts enough of a stand-alone quality without sacrificing cohesion. Text, Lies & Video pt 1 gave the impression that this was a sex thriller with a lighter side. It set up the two nemeses Andy (Nicco Sky) and Travis (Chris Rockway) and showed the one night stand that served as the catalyst for the rest of the movie. Andy allows Travis to use a camcorder record their bedroom fun only after extracting the promise that it will only be for private use. Of course Travis breaks his word & uploads it to FuckBoyTube. In Text, Lies And Video Part 2 Andy finds out he's become an unwilling online porn star and learns he's not the first to be a Travis "discovery". When Andy goes on a date with Tommy (Riley Price) he learns the guy went out with him on the basis on the sex tape. We also see Travis' sex encounter with Colton (Dallas Evans) the hot security guard whose sex tape gets him fired. Text, Lies & Video Part 3 is probably the most transitional of the movie as it features the hatching of a scheme and a fantasy scene with Andy's bud Sasha (Eric Pryor) and Benjamin Bradley. In Text, Lies & Video Part 4 Andy's buddy Mack (Gunner Pierce) and Richard Pierce lure Travis into a three-way that Andy secretly records and puts on DVD, revealing Travis' identity and his reputation. It will be interesting to see how well the whole thing holds up on DVD and if there's any extra footage but it's likely that we'll be seeing more of these kind of videos in the future. HOT NEWCOMER OF THE WEEK Sean Cody: Max   In the descriptions that accompany Sean Cody newcomer videos with there are usually clues, sometimes subtle, that let you know if the model will be coming back. The most common sign is when the model expresses a "curiosity" about other guys. It's as good as an invitation for Sean Cody to bring the model back to see if he really is curious. In the case of newcomer Max we didn't have to wait long to find out: his debut solo video was followed by his being paired with and bottoming for Alan. On the strength of these two very hot videos Max has become an instant favorite for us. With thick muscles, handsome, and semi-hairy body 25-year old Max is a physical beauty to be sure but also a very dynamic performer. In his solo he also demonstrates a very vocal style and he uses that in his pairing with Alan.There are some very hot surprises in this video--lots of kissing, Alan's forceful but non-brutal role in topping Max (and Max loving it) and an extended post-climax sequence with more kissing and cum-eating. There's lots of chemistry here to be sure. Even if Max was downplaying his curiosity about other guys or being semi-truthful about his "gay virginity" he still made a great first impression and we want to see more. ------------------------------ Week of May 8-15, 2010  This week Corbin Fisher released the first video shot during a recent "working vacation" on location in Costa Rica. It features the luscious pair of Dru & Dawson and it's loaded with so much sexual chemistry that it had to be one of our picks of the week. It all takes place in a dimly lit & somewhat rustic hotel room so there's also an slight tone of illicit sexuality. It really works as a nice contrast with the clean cut appearances of Dru & Dawson--not that you'll be paying much attention to the decor. Dru gets to top CF's most prolific Dawson and he relishes every second of this opportunity. First of all, let's state the obvious: Dawson has a perfect body and it looks better and better every time a new video comes out. There really is no way that he can be photographed in an unflattering way. Dru isn't just well aware of this--he verbalizes it throughout the video. The new Dru & Dawson video also illustrates some of the reasons why we like Corbin Fisher. You see, as cute & innocent as Dru & Dawson appear they are not-so innocent horn dogs. Dru starts out sensuously and turns into a fuck machine and that's the way Dawson likes it! We have always like the contrast here of clean-cut guys and hard-driving sex -- a great combination. We can't wait to see what's next in Costa Rica!  At Sean Cody this week the heat & chemistry is even more vivid in the video featuring models Isaac & Ivan. It certainly helps that Sean Cody has paired up two openly gay performers who have a real attraction to each other. Essentially there's not much in the way of "performing". In fact, their on-screen chemistry is so powerful that the guys hint that they're going to continue exploring it offscreen. SC thinks so too and includes it in the video description. There's a lot of foreplay here in the video courtesy of a new set feature: a luxurious bathtub that used for a big ol' bubble bath. HOT NEWCOMER OF THE WEEK Club Jason Sparks: Alex  On his blog and on Twitter Jason Sparks chronicles his travels around the country as he films hot guys for his site Club Jason Sparks. Often the site features familiar faces but there are also some very hot & sexy discoveries like this past week with Alex. While there's little or no info on Alex he definitely has the "it" factor going on. Even though it's an overused expression Alex really does have bedroom eyes. While we're at it he's also got a bedroom smile. His short raven hair is also visually riveting. The way it shimmers it looks like he's got silver highlights. Just as there are tons of hot videos released every week there are also new faces that we feel deserve a spotlight. They might not necessarily become stars or regular performers in the long run but for the week at least they're stars to us. This week's video picks are a fair representation of how far online video sites have evolved from "amateur" sites thanks to higher production values and performers who are far from amateurs. Extra Big Dicks paired up two of the hottest performers around with John Magnum & Tommy Defendi, both of whom have made several ventures into feature films. It's amazing to see how Tommy Defendi has transformed himself into a rougher, edgier performer as well as someone who is so versatile.
