"Even though it's a cliché we can best describe Spencer Reed as tall, dark, and handsome." Those were our words when we posted our first blog entry devoted to this ruggedly masculine, slightly edgy, & well-muscled performer in the summer of 2009. We also predicted that our original checklist would become outdated pretty quickly and we turned out to be more right than we anticipated. This busy performer has made many appearances on multiple sites and movies and that alone could make him a Jack Manly Man.
However we don't just use quantity of appearances as a criteria for this section of the site. We also look at the strong impression that a performer makes on us & on fans, through his looks, his personality and his style. That's why Spencer Reed is on this list. Spencer Reed has what we refer to as quiet, low-key masculinity--the kind that is natural, unforced and very appealing. Far from laid-back Spencer Reed has a tendency to start out a scene slow & easy & build momentum, putting forth a lot of energy & dynamism into his on-camera performances. It's a style that sneaks up on you (and his scene partners) and separates him from other so-called power tops. From this you can rightly assume that Spencer Reed is not a robotic performer--in fact he often brings a smile & subtle wit to his scenes.
As you can see below Spencer Reed has worked with several studios, directors, and websites and has done an interesting amounty of diverse work. Through it all the Spencer Reed persona shines through and makes him a standout without him being a show-off. This is why we think that Spencer Reed keeps building a fan following and will have staying power well beyond the time when he's no longer performing.
A few fun facts not included in his filmography. He has done some clever self-promotion at his blog Spencer Reed XXX (aka Porn Slut). He filmed his own mini-videos (two of which were of the solo J/O genre) and made them available as FREE downloads. As of this writing the videos may or may not be still available but they worked in terms of putting himself out there and getting noticed.
